US stocks rise again as investors hope for trade progress

NEW YORK (AP) — U.S. stocks are higher Tuesday as industrial and internet companies rise, although losses for banks and chipmakers eroded a big early gain.The latest round of trade talks between the U.S. and China ended without word of progress, but with no evident signs of setbacks either.KEEPING SCORE: The S&P 500 index rose 10 points, or 0.4 percent, to 2,560 as of noon Eastern time.BONDS: Bond prices fell and yields rose, a sign investors expect continued economic growth and higher interest rates.
