TSA cancels training for hundreds of workers as shutdown drags on

“TSA workers, air traffic controllers and FAA inspectors rallied outside the Capitol on Thursday, arguing that the shutdown is hurting aviation security” writes Jennifer Scholtes for politico.com. The Transportation Security Administration had to cancel training last week for 323 employees who do frontline security work, like airport screening, as the government shutdown continues. The Department of Homeland Security, which includes TSA, is one of nine federal departments shuttered by the standoff over President Donald Trump’s border wall.
