T.J. Maxx parent will reap rewards from a tighter economy

“TJX Cos. off-price retail model continues to succeed, a pattern that promises to continue as the economy softens, according to GlobalData Retail” writes Tonya Garcia for marketwatch.com. TJX, -0.52%   reported fourth-quarter sales that beat expectations, a same-store sales rise of 6%, and increased its dividend.As financial concerns grow, that combo will be even more appealing. “[T]he slightly tighter economy should drive more shoppers into TJX over the course of the year,” wrote Neil Saunders, GlobalData Retail’s managing director.
