Verizon stock rises on announcement of new NFL deal

“Under the deal, Verizon would have the rights to stream national and in-network NFL games on mobile devices, with the games available to viewers regardless of their wireless carrier” writes Emily Bary for marketwatch.com. Verizon shares have fallen 4.1% so far in 2017, compared with a 19% gain for the S&P 500 Index SPX, +0.32%. The deal begins in January and will include the NFL playoffs.
