US Treasury yields edge higher as investors turn attention to key data

“U.S. government debt prices were lower Friday, as investors geared up for fresh economic data while keeping an eye on news surrounding the sovereign debt markets” writes Alexandra Gibbs for cnbc.com. The yield on the benchmark 10-year Treasury note was higher at around 2.548 percent at 5:45 a.m.ET, while the yield on the 30-year Treasury bond was higher at 2.872 percent. Bond yields move inversely to prices.
