Joint Strike Fighter plans stolen in Australia cyber attack

Australian Defence Force/Handout via REUTERS SYDNEY (Reuters) – A hacker stole non-classified information about Australia’s Joint Strike Fighter program and other military hardware last year after breaching the network of a defense contractor, the defense industry minister said on Thursday.The attack on the defense contractor was carried out by a “malicious cyber adversary”, it said.The ACSC said in a report on Monday that it responded to 734 cyber attacks on “systems of national interest” for the year ended June 30, and the defense industry was a major target.
